Introduction to the Art of Quilt Making
ID :
15247
« back to classes page
Are you interested in learning the art and craft of quilt making? Design and create a quilt from start to finish as you learn all of the necessary skills and terminology. You will learn about choosing fabrics based on hue and saturation, quilt pattern design, basic quilt math, quilting tools, proper cutting techniques, how to create your quilt sandwich, and so much more! Each class will include a brief presentation, hands-on activities, demonstrations, lots of time for practice and experimentation, and a guest speaker in the last class! By the end of class you will have a 12” x 18” quilt, and the skills to make many more at home!
The classroom is a great space to create and sew, with lots of space to spread out, plenty of Bernina sewing machines, large cutting tables, ironing boards and irons, great music, good company, as well as basic sewing supplies and tools to help you reach your quilting goals.
This class is appropriate for students who have no prior quilt making experience. However, in order to participate, all students must have some prior sewing experience on a sewing machine, understand how to use a sewing machine, and have basic sewing skills. We will only briefly go-through how to use our Bernina machines and seam allowances in this class. If you have no sewing machine experience, check out the Learn to Sew Basics class instead for an introductory sewing class.
Your materials fee covers all of the supplies and materials needed, as well as the actual quilting. The quilting will be completed between the second-to-last class and the last class by Good Witch Quilts. Upon registration, please see your email confirmation for additional information about supplies and materials.
