Magnolias in Watercolor and Ink

Magnolias are big, dramatic, curvaceous flowers full of subtle colors and strong lines, and are a joy to draw and paint! They are the perfect subject for mixed media. Come spend the afternoon practicing watercolor and mixed media skills while creating ink and watercolor paintings of magnolia blooms and branches. Heidi will demonstrate wet washes, wet-in-wet, softening edges, and using ink for emphasis. There will be plenty of time for practicing techniques, and completing your final piece.
During class you will be working from photographs, which Heidi will provide, and the photos help to visualize the images in 2D.  All levels are welcome, no prior experience necessary! All materials provided in class.
