Sun printing botanicals is the perfect crossway between science and art! Sun printing (cyanotyping) is a process of using the sun to make beautiful cyan blue camera-less photographic prints. Learn about the history (which involves an astronomer, a scientist, a botanist, and a photographer) the diversity of the process, what botanicals can be used, and the techniques to follow that will create gorgeous sun prints. You will take away four 10” x 8” framable botanical cyanotypes.
Bring flowers and leaves to class to use for your cyanotypes. Try to bring at least ten different botanical specimens that are freshly picked, dried, or pressed. Your materials fee covers everything else you need to create your cyanotypes, including some extra botanicals to experiment with!
