Buche de Noel cake comes from ancient winter solstice traditions. Celtic and pagan tribes burned large logs on the longest night of the year to welcome back the sun and chase away evil spirits. Make your very own Buche de Noel cake for whatever winter holiday you celebrate! This cake is delicious, and a work of art. Learn to prepare a rich, rolled chocolate sponge, then fill with creamy nut or fruit filling, and top it with dark, velvety ganache. Take it to the next level and learn to make delicate meringue mushrooms and marzipan holly leaves to decorate your Buche de Noel.
No experience is necessary and all materials provided in class. Students work in two-person groups to complete recipes, so come prepared to make some new friends!
