Did you know bats eat over 1,000 mosquitos and other insects each hour at dawn and dusk? Attract these charming and beneficial “sky puppies” to your own backyard with a dual chamber bat box that offers safe spaces for breeding and roosting. Learn about the benefits of bats, how to attract them to your yard or neighborhood, and how you can help and maintain their habitats sustainably. You will learn and practice basic woodworking techniques as you create and personalize their new home. You will go home with your new bat box, approximately 18” x 24”, ideas for ways to personalize and decorate it that are safe for the“sky puppies”, and information about proper installation. This class will close for registration 2 days prior to class to allow time for your instructor to prepare materials and supplies for you! Bring your lunch and a drink. Please wear closed toed shoes and long pants for work in the woodshop - safety first, safety last, safety always!
