Fall in love with the shoreline in a new way! Wander the Santa Cruz beaches and get to know the edible and medicinal virtues of the myriad plants that grow along the oceanside. From yarrow and sagebrush to fennel and rocket -- the plants that populate these sandy shores are ripe with culinary and medicinal benefits. You will taste, smell, and get to know the plants, learn which to avoid, and walk away with the knowledge of how to approach the shoreline from the standpoint of sustenance!
Wear comfortable clothes for walking on a seaside trail and bring a snack and water bottle to keep yourself feeling good on the walk.

Park in the parking lot of Four Mile Beach, north of Santa Cruz and south of Davenport. Meet at the trailhead. No parking fee for the lot. The lot is pretty bumpy so drive carefully and carpool if possible.
