Propagation: More Plants for Free
ID :

« back to classes page
Multiply your favorite plants for free by learning how to take cuttings, divisions, and seed the plants you love. There is nothing like the joy of nurturing your own small cuttings and seedlings into full-fledged plants, especially when there’s no greenhouse or special equipment necessary. With hands-on instruction, Jill will guide you through the process of propagating a variety of different types of plants. You will have a chance to try each major propagation technique, from taking cuttings and making divisions, to collecting seeds and moving self-seeded plants. Jill will discuss how to observe plants in order to make the best decision about how to propagate, as well as how to apply these techniques in the design of your garden. Take home the plants you propagate in class, including multiple cuttings of at least two different perennial flowers, two divisions in pots, a collection of seeds, and at least one seedling, as well as a set of instructions for each process. Whether you are preserving a favorite varietal or increasing the numbers of an established garden dweller, this is a rewarding way to grow your garden and share with friends!
