Music Producers - Recording Studio (13-17)

Fuel your musical passion as a music producer! Create and record original songs while adding a variety of instrumental sounds to bring your ideas to life. Learn to navigate digital audio workstations and explore songwriting using rhythm, harmony, and melody as the building blocks of your own musical style. Arrange musical elements into full compositions, then record and edit tracks using MIDI, digital instruments, or even your own voice in the college's professional grade recording studio. This studio features a large iso booth, a drum kit, an upright piano, guitar amps, multiple channels of high end outboard preamps, compressors, eqs, and 3-way Dynaudio monitors. 
You will take a tour of Cabrillo’s state-of-the art music education building and a backstage tour of the Samper Recital Hall, a full production performance venue known for its excellent acoustics. The week ends with a recital, also known as a “DJ off”, where all parents are invited to come experience their students’ creations. No musical experience is required, so become a music producer and take home your very own original music!
