ClassGraphic Are you a young writer with professional aspirations? Ready to take your story telling to the next level? This creative writing “crash-camp” will cover everything you need to know about how professional and semi-professional authors build their careers and continue writing fiction at a high level. Through roundtables, writing prompts, lots of small group conversations, and Q & A you will learn and practice how to draft and edit, keep a reading log, hit daily wordcount goals, and participate in critique-partner workshopping. Gain insight into how the publishing industry works, how new writers get started, why so many get their start in short fiction, and how to develop and sell ideas around your writing. You will be encouraged to write every day, expand and develop your reading taste, and tell stories with the goal of sharing them with broader audiences. By the end of camp you will be able to visualize your future in writing, create a roadmap towards possible professional publication, and see the many potential routes towards a future in creative writing.

Camp will meet in a computer lab, but you may bring your laptop if you prefer. Please bring a note book & pen.
