Decorative components, including frit, stringer, glass cabochons, iridescent glass, and cane may be used to enhance your design. You will have access to glass cutting systems, a diamond wheel grinder, and a ring saw. Following the class, your piece will undergo multiple overnight kiln firings. The first will fuse all the glass elements of your design into a single flat piece of glass and the second will slump the glass into a ceramic mold to achieve its final hammock shape. Your materials fee covers all needed fusible art glass, decorative components, use of tools and safety equipment, consumables and kiln firings. Projects will be available for pick-up about a week after class to allow for kiln firing time.
For safety, please wear closed-toe shoes and avoid overly loose or flowing clothing, hair or jewelry.
