Take your basic sewing skills to the next level! Knowing the basics, you will now learn to read, interpret, and successfully use a pattern, create a gathered waistband, put in a zipper (yes, you can!), complete box corners, and use interfacing and bias tape. Learn these important skills while completing two simple, guided projects. Students will complete one tote bag, and may then choose between PJ pants or shorts. The skills you’ll learn in this class will be part of many, many patterns and projects in your future, so this is a great opportunity to master the skills with expert guidance.
We provide lots of space to spread out, sewing machines, basic sewing tools, irons and ironing boards, great music and good company. You provide the fabric of your choice for the 2 projects. Before you buy any fabric, please read the Class Letter that is posted to the Class Resources web page for details about what types of fabric will work in these projects, what to bring, and other important class information.
This class is designed for those who have completed Learn to Sew Basics, or who have equivalent, basic sewing skills.
