Did you know that if you unfolded your intestines they are the same length as two cars? Or that your heart pumps more than a gallon of blood in one minute? Or that your stomach uses juices to mush up your food? The science of the human body can be gross, but it is always fascinating! Step into the role of a scientist and learn about all the systems that make you, you. As junior biologists, pathologists, and doctors you will investigate what makes your body work. Wearing your lab coats you will test your senses at the sense-station, record your findings in your science notebooks, create a life-sized drawing of yourself to map out your nervous system, extract fruit DNA, experiment with Glo-germ and a black light to discover why washing your hands is important, and so much more in this interactive, hands-on camp. Students will take home projects created during the week, and use their new science observation skills to continue their life science explorations at home!
