Handcrafted Little Free Library

Take your woodworking skills to the next level by building your own neighborhood book-sharing library. In this hands-on class, you’ll expand on foundational skills like measuring, cutting, and assembly while learning new techniques including angled cuts, door construction, and weather-resistant design. You’ll work with quality materials to create a durable, outdoor-ready structure designed to protect books from the elements.
You will have time in class to make an LFL approximately 24” x 30” with two shelves and glass paned doors, ready to take home and paint your favorite color! By the end of class, you’ll have a completed Little Free Library ready to install in your neighborhood, along with the skills and confidence to take on more advanced woodworking projects. Anthony will provide guidance for how you can mount your LFL after class, including fence mounted or or mounted on a post, like a mailbox.
This class is a great next step after the Handcrafted Garden Planter class, or for anyone with basic woodworking experience. Basic shop safety and tool skills will be covered in class, but some woodworking experience is required, such as simple measuring, marking, cutting accurately, working from plans, and some experience with common power tools such as table saws, miter saws, and drill is required.
