Burgers are a mainstay of American cuisine and plant-based burgers are popping up in restaurants everywhere. With summer coming soon, this is a great opportunity to learn to make your own impossibly delicious plant-based burgers and learn how to create complete proteins from vegan and vegetarian ingredients. Stretch your burger imagination as you learn to prepare mouth-watering options like Black Bean & Oat Burgers, Portobello Mushroom Burgers, Chickpea Burgers with Pickled Cucumber and Onion, and Sweet Potato Fries. You will receive a formula to combine your favorite ingredients, form them into patties, and troubleshoot the consistency to create the perfect burger. These burgers are made from whole grains, plant-based proteins, a binder, seasoning, and your favorite veggies. You will prepare and cook three different burgers using delicious ingredients, and go home with new plant-based burger powers to wow your family and friends.
Students must wear closed toed shoes and long pants, and may bring their favorite apron.
