Explore Zentangle drawing and learn how this non-representational and unplanned form of artistic meditation provides a bit of calming "Zenflow." The Zentangle method is easy to learn and so relaxing! By avoiding common blocks to creative flow such as self-criticism, fear of failure, and worrying about outcomes, you can create beautiful, fulfilling art. The stress relief and mindfulness of Zentangle allows you to focus on one line at a time, so you are not thinking about the stresses of your day-to-day life! Lisa will begin with simple breathing exercises then guide you through each step as you create structured patterns, called tangles, and learn to adopt the "no mistakes, only opportunities" mindset.
Your materials fee will cover all of the supplies you use in class including a Zentangle pencil, a tortillion, a Sakura Micron PN Black pen, and a museum quality, 100% cotton paper tile to assure that your drawing is long lasting. You may bring colored pencils if you want to add color. Go home with two beautiful Zentangles on cotton paper tile, two blank cotton paper tiles, handouts with Zentangle resources, instructions to replicate this process at home, and your newfound state of calming "Zenflow."
