Create beautiful, zero waste gift wrapping this holiday season with the art of Furoshiki wrapping cloths! In this workshop, you'll explore the history of Furoshiki use in Japan as traditional storage of belongings during bathing, their use as lunch bags, shopping bags, and gift wrapping, and the current resurgence in modern day Japan as sustainability and zero-waste have become an important part of the culture once again.

Kaitlin will guide the class through wrapping multiple sizes of boxes, wine bottles, and loose items in a variety of ways. You leave class with a diagram of 10 Furoshiki folding techniques to keep practicing and wrapping at home. Your materials fee covers an 18’ furoshiki cloth for you to use in class, and take home, and you can feel free to bring an additional wrapping cloth as well.
