Handmade Autumn Wreaths

ClassGraphic You know those big beautiful wreaths, full of fresh greens and foliage, that you see at the farmer’s markets and in fancy gift shops? You can learn to make your own! Join LeAnn for a day of wreath making to create your own large, 28" autumn wreath made from richly colored fall foliage that can be hung indoors or out. You will create your custom made wreath using fresh, locally sourced greens, and other textured foliage including bold magnolia, subtle and textured seeded eucalyptus, and delicate bay & olive branches.  You will start by understanding the foliage, then LeAnn will guide you through the process of making tiny bouquets to individually wire to the frame. This creates a beautiful, layered, full look, as well as ensuring your wreath will last!  You will leave class with your beautiful wreath, the skills to make more at home, as well as an understanding of which greens & flowers are best for handmade custom wreaths. 

Your materials fee includes use of all the clippers and wire you need, as well as the wreath form and foliage for your wreath. Be sure to bring a sturdy, yet flexible and form fitting pair of work gloves gloves, like Atlas brand.

Please read:  Please be sure to bring a sturdy, yet flexible and form fitting pair of work gloves gloves, like Atlas brand. Everything you need to make your wreath will be provided in class. You may also bring additional plant material from your garden, or that you have foraged, to incorporate into your wreath.

Plants that are a good choice for your wreath are:

Rose hips

Citrus clusters

Lavender

Flowering herbs,

Rosemary

Statice

Dried flowers

Plants that are not suitable:

Fresh flowers

Fresh roses

The greens listed are subject to change. LeAnn will have a wide selection of autumn greens on hand, but those listed in the class description are subject to change. We are at the mercy of the market, Mother Nature, COVID, and who knows what else!!

Parking is enforced 7 days a week on the Cabrillo Campus. Please carefully read the signage in areas where you park. Daily parking permits are $4.00 and can be purchased in any of the student parking lots from parking permit dispensers. Daily permits are only good for the date of purchase. Permit dispensers only accept credit and debit cards, no cash.
