Learn a new technique for creating a  papier-mache sculpture inspired by world famous Mexican artists from the Lineras family. Donna will guide you step-by-step as you design and construct a critter like a dog, cat, bird, or any animal you choose.  In the first class you will build the piece and apply the papier mache’ coating.  In the second class you will finish your piece by painting and decorating. No prior art experience is  necessary. Your finished piece will be approximately 12" x 12" x 12". All of the materials and supplies will be provided in class. Please be sure to wear comfy clothes, bring a photograph of the animal you wish to use, and a cardboard box large enough to carry your piece home between classes.

During the first class meeting you will learn about the process and tradition, and Donna will offer a demonstration of construction, including tips on making horns, teeth, paws etc. There will be plenty of time to design and create your shape, and then you will take your piece home to dry. In the second class you will have time to paint and decorate to bring your piece to life! You will go home with your finished papier-mache sculpture, a step-by-step chart for the process, and your new papier-mache skills to create many more at home!

Please be sure to wear comfy clothes, bring a photograph of the animal you wish to use, and a cardboard box large enough to carry your piece home between classes.
