Sweet and Savory Scones

ClassGraphic The humble scone is so simple, yet scone dough can accommodate a dizzying range of flavors. Scones are of Scottish origin and traditionally reserved for tea, but they can be sweet or savory and are as perfect with tea as they are with a warm bowl of soup. Join Chef Stephany at Cabrillo’s bakeshop to learn her tricks to assure that perfect combination of flaky and moist with crisp crumbly edges as you learn to make a batch of fragrant, sweet scones, as well as a batch of hearty, savory scones, both with fresh, seasonal ingredients!

No experience necessary, all materials provided in class. Students will work in two-person groups to complete recipes, so come prepared to make some new friends!


Students must wear closed toed shoes and long pants, and may bring their favorite apron.

Parking is enforced 7 days a week on the Cabrillo Campus. Please carefully read the signage in areas where you park. Daily parking permits are $4.00 and can be purchased in any of the student parking lots from parking permit dispensers. Daily permits are only good for the date of purchase. Permit dispensers only accept credit and debit cards, no cash.
