More than a how-to class, we focus on the creative process itself, and how to develop your unique artistic voice through mixed media exploration.
Keeping a visual creative journal helps you to live life more deeply. This is NOT a class in scrapbooking, crafts, or bookmaking. It is a tool to awaken your senses and help you experience the world through your artist's eyes. You will leave the workshop inspired and rejuvenated, with the beginnings of a personal art journal that incorporates the power of your own words and images. You’ll learn techniques to create a visual journal that are based on personalized prompts that you’ll be able to use over and over again to develop a regular journaling practice.
This workshop provides a safe and non-judgmental environment for participants of all levels of artistic experience. No writing, collage, drawing, painting or photography experience necessary. All movement exercises are gentle, are designed to support any fitness level, and can be performed in a chair as well as standing. Wear comfortable clothes.
All materials and supplies are provided in class, including the art journal. You will take home your mixed media art journal full of your own creative work and with plenty of room to continue your journaling practice on your own.
