Fiber-Wrapped Coil Basket

ClassGraphic Learn techniques to create a gorgeous, fiber-wrapped coil basket that is unique to you! You'll learn to use a wide assortment of fabrics to wrap around a cotton rope core, and then coil it into a beautiful basket using colorful yarn and string. Once the form is created, you'll add fabric and mixed media embellishments to take it to the next level. Perfect for beginning through advanced artists.

Your materials fee will cover the rope, fabric, yarn, string, beads, embellishments, and tools needed to create your basket. If you have sewing scissors, please bring them with you. You're also welcome to bring additional fabrics, yarn, beads, shells, and other materials to potentially add to your basket. Please bring lunch and something to drink.

No basketry or art experience is necessary, and all levels are welcome. You will have time in class to complete one medium sized basket.

Parking is enforced 7 days a week on the Cabrillo Campus. Please carefully read the signage in areas where you park. Daily parking permits are $4.00 and can be purchased in any of the student parking lots from parking permit dispensers. Daily permits are only good for the date of purchase. Permit dispensers only accept credit and debit cards, no cash.
