Introduction to Embroidery

Come pick up a hoop and thread and learn the basics of hand embroidery! You will make an embroidery sampler composed of a variety of common stitches including the versatile backstitch, elegant chain stitch, and dainty French knot. Along the way, Katie will share some tricks and techniques on threading needles, tying knots, untangling thread, backing embroidery hoops, and tools for transferring patterns. You will leave with your new embroidery skills and a colorful sampler to display on your wall or use as a guide for future embroidery projects.
All of the supplies and materials will be provided in class. Your materials fee covers embroidery floss (thread) for your projects, one embroidery hoop, embroidery needles, and cotton fabric. Additional supplies will be available for purchase in class if you have time to make another project.
