Learn how to create simple earrings while learning basic jewelry fabrication skills as well. Through demonstrations and practice exercises, you will learn the basics of soldering with a gas torch, filing, polishing, tool skills, and the basic small metals studio safety precautions to help you use all of the tools and equipment. You will have time to complete two pairs of earrings, and will go home with the skills to continue making more jewelry for yourself, and those you love!
Class is held in Cabrillo’s state-of-the-art small metals and jewelry lab. Please wear long pants and closed toe shoes for work in the jewelry shop, and please finish all food and drinks before class. Also be prepared to pull your hair back - safety first!
