Majestic Beauty: Day Hike in North Big Sur, Andrew Molera State Park (ages 16 and older)

Big Sur’s largest state park, Andrew Molera, has everything you could want in a Big Sur hike. But knowing exactly where to hike, and when, can lead to truly magical experiences. Gary will guide you on a hike to see the rare elfin redwood grove and the wild and vibrant coastline as you internalize nature’s beauty. You will begin with a serene morning walk on the  seashore and return by way of the groomed state park trail. The early start time allows you to walk during the low tide, and there’s also fewer people in the park!
Famed author Henry Miller wrote, “It was here in Big Sur that I first learned to say
amen.” This is a hike for those who want to lose themselves in the majestic beauty of
one of the world’s most beautiful coastlines. Our goal will be to use this time surrounded
by awe-inspiring beauty to quiet the mind and rejuvenate the soul.

This hike is designed for intermediate-level hikers who are at least 16 years of age. Students who are 16 or 17 years old must be accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult. Our eight-mile hike will consist of undulating terrain with an elevation gain of approximately 1300 ft. In an effort to accommodate all hiking paces, we will staff the caboose position in our hiking train.
