Want to learn how to make non-dairy cheeses that really scratch that cheesy itch? In this introductory vegan cheese-making class we’ll show you how to make your favorite cheese recipes that you thought were no longer possible with your healthy, non-dairy lifestyle. We’ll show you how to make a velvety cheese sauce that goes perfectly with nachos, an addictive parmesan topping to go on everything, a simple yet impressive cultured cheese spread, and more. As we make the recipes, you’ll be introduced to some ingredients that may be new to you, such as miso paste, nutritional yeast, and others that we’ll use to create the right texture and tang. Although we’ll use a variety of nuts and seeds in our recipes, we’ll also explore vegan cheeses through additional ingredients. Each student will leave with recipes and 4 ounces of cheese in a reusable glass jar to take home.
Students must wear closed toed shoes and long pants, and may bring their favorite apron.

Please wear long pants, closed-toed shoes, and bring your favorite apron if you’d like! Students may bring their favorite kitchen knife to class, or loaner knives will be available for anyone who doesn’t have or want to bring their own.

Parking is enforced 7 days a week on the Cabrillo Campus. Please carefully read the signage in areas where you park. Daily parking permits are $4.00 and can be purchased in any of the student parking lots from parking permit dispensers. Daily permits are only good for the date of purchase. Permit dispensers only accept credit and debit cards, no cash.
