ClassGraphic Join Elizabeth for a vibrant morning of discovery at the Cabrillo farmers market and bring your appetite for adventure! Visit Elizabeth’s favorite farm stands and meet some of the local growers, while learning how to choose peak-season fruits and veggies, and get inspired with easy, delicious ways to use more produce in your meals. You’ll be challenged to pick one new vegetable you’ve never tried before, and buy enough to share with the group (with market dollars provided in class!).
After your market stroll, the class will head back to the kitchen classroom to wash, prep, and transform your market finds into simple, fresh dishes. If you've ever wandered past the overflowing produce stands wondering what to do with all those colorful, unfamiliar vegetables, this is your chance to explore, learn, and taste something new. With summer in full swing and local farms bursting with fresh flavors, there's no better time to celebrate the bounty of Monterey County. Plus, with new science linking a diverse plant-based diet to better gut health and long-term wellness, your body will thank you, too.

You’ll leave with a bag of beautiful, market-fresh veggies, recipes, and a signed copy of Elizabeth’s latest book, Tastes Like La Dolce Vita, packed with 50+ Mediterranean-inspired plant-based dishes

This class begins early so you can get the best parking and produce finds. Come hungry, curious, and ready to have fun—this isn’t just a shopping trip, it’s a taste-buds awakening!

Please bring a bag or basket to carry your items from the market. Please note your materials fee covers “market-bucks” that you spend during class for the ingredients we use in class.
