Writing is one of the best tools for making sense of life. We are all writers. Join Kimberly at the Horticulture Center, high atop Cabrillo’s campus, with sweeping views of Monterey Bay, to explore creative writing through the lens of your five senses. In this immersive experience, you will use taste, smell, sound, touch, and sight as pathways to deeper self-expression and narrative discovery. You will engage in sensory activities to unlock your creative flow and explore the relationship between sensory perception and self-expression. You will listen, smell, observe, taste, and touch a collection of sensory food and objects specially curated by Kimbelry. Through curated readings, reflective prompts, and personal writing time, you will begin or deepen your creative writing practice with an emphasis on wellness, awareness, presence, and personal voice.
You will leave with practical strategies to continue a writing practice that integrates sensory experiences.

This course welcomes writers of all levels. Please bring your favorite journal, a pen, lunch, and a drink. Your materials fee covers the sensory items provided in class.
