« back to classes page
ClassGraphic Join Laura at Four Acorns Farm to learn how to make (2) beginner mini ornament baskets. The baskets you will weave feature a braided border and handle, and will be approximately 3” diameter and 5” tall. Fill them with mini candy canes or a holly sprig - this is a sweet holiday decoration!  As you weave your baskets, you will learn about the art and craft of basketry - one of the oldest art forms and traditional tools. Laura will guide you from start to finish while discussing how to work with basketry reed and which tools to use. Resources and basket inspiration will be shared. This class is suitable for all beginning students.
Class is held in the rustic, 1880’s barn next to the rare breed poultry barn. You will be surrounded by the sounds of Four Acorns Farm, the antiques that line the walls, and have time to enjoy your lunch outside, or in the barn, during the midday break.

Your materials fee will be paid in class and covers all the reed necessary to finish your project, and the required tool kit. For those students who have taken a class with Laura and already have the tool kit, you will not need to pay the $15 for the tool kit, as long as you bring all of your tools!
Be sure to wear comfortable clothing (and layers) that can get messy. Please bring a lunch as we will pause for a midday break.
