ClassGraphic You will begin at Cabrillo for a lecture and presentation where Judi will review biology, species identification, and habitat for our local owls, and you will learn to identify owl species by silhouette and their unique calls. Between the classroom portion and your walk you will have a brief break to grab an early dinner and make the drive to Natural Bridges. You will meet again for an evening of nocturnal searching in the wooded areas of the park, listening for their hoots and calls, and looking for their telltale glowing eyes amongst the trees!
Directions and details about the meeting place for your evening walk will be provided in class. Students should dress warm, wear comfortable walking shoes, and bring a flashlight! Note: flashlights will be pointed at the ground for safe walking and will not be shone upwards; we don’t want to disturb the owls in their natural habitat!
