Travel with Janet on a virtual journey across five distinct wine-making regions as she shares her deep knowledge and passion for wine. Each night you'll explore distinct wine-making regions, and learn about the wines and wine styles that they produce. Through guided tasting and discussion, you will learn how to appreciate each wine through sight, smell, and taste as you dive into the varietals, terroir, and rich wine-growing history unique to each area. As you sample each of the wines you'll begin to understand the key characteristics and expressions that define their essence — from soil and climate to tradition and technique.
Class will be held at the beautiful Horticulture Center, high atop Cabrillo’s campus with sweeping views of the Monterey Bay, and class is scheduled so you will see the sunset each night! Regionally inspired small bites will be provided during each class discussion and sampling, prepared by Chef Hedy Nochimson, Executive Chef at Plate and Bottle. You will go home with an expanded understanding of each of these regions to use in your selection, pairing, and dining experience.
Please note that all students must be 21 years or older to participate in this class, and be prepared to show ID at the beginning of class.
