This class is for the official Secretary of State proctored Notary exam ONLY. It is for students who have a current Proof of Completion for an approved Secretary of State Notary class. Proof of Completion documents are valid for two years.

Notary Exam Only students must bring:
  • Application and Proof of Completion (issued after the instruction portion of class has concluded)
  • Proof of Completion documents are valid for two years for first time notaries
  • ID, one of the following, must be current or issued within the last five years:
    • U.S. state-issued driver’s license or ID card
    • Canadian or Mexican driver’s license
    • U.S. passport or a passport issued by a foreign government
    • U.S. military ID card
  • 2 x 2” color passport-size photograph. You may not use the photo that is in your current passport! You need a separate photo that is standard passport size that is given to the Secretary of State proctor as part of your exam application.

  • $40 exam fee in the form of a personal, business, or cashier’s check made payable to the Secretary of State. This fee is for the exam, and is in addition to the class and materials fees
  • Two #2 pencils

Due to State regulations, no one will be admitted
to the classroom late.

You must return from breaks on time.

  • Parking is enforced 7 days a week on the Cabrillo Campus. Please carefully read the signage in areas where you park. Daily parking permits are $4.00 and can be purchased in any of the student parking lots from parking permit dispensers. Daily permits are only good for the date of purchase. Permit dispensers only accept credit and debit cards, no cash.
