The Japanese term for forest bathing is Shinrin-yoku. Forest bathing, or “Awe Walks,” is one of the most delightful ways to support your wellness. Focusing on slow walking or sitting and practicing mindfulness in nature, forest bathing has been found to reduce stress, lower blood pressure, improve mood, and even boost your immune system. Seeking out awe and curiosity also helps us to feel more connected and have greater access to our own creativity.
You will take a group walk, taking in the beauty of nature with all your senses. Melissa will talk about ways to incorporate Forest Bathing into your wellness practice and propose ways to listen to the wisdom of the natural world around you to help you ponder life's questions.
Walk and visit with the redwoods at Nisene Marks State Park in the early morning before the crowds. You will have easy paths to walk on and plenty of options to sit.
Class will meet at the parking area immediately after you pay at the kiosk.

Bring a journal to note your reflections, and plan to pay for parking and carpool if possible.
