Learn the traditional craft of natural soap making using plant-based ingredients and essential oils from local botanicals like lavender and rosemary. You will work in small groups to create your own natural soap using the hot-process method and common kitchen tools like crockpots. You will customize your soaps with lavender grown locally at the Lavender Creek farm, and essential oil produced in the Botanical Distillation and Essential Oils class. You will learn how to safely handle ingredients, heat the base oils, and blend essential oils to produce natural aromatic soaps. You will take home a silicone mold containing 3-4 bars of your handmade soap, and the knowledge to continue making soaps at home.
