ID : 10141
« back to classes page

Learn to photograph the cascading rivers and splashing streams of the Santa Cruz mountains, as well as the crashing waves and silky ocean waters at the Santa Cruz beaches. This workshop will cover the use of neutral density, graduated, and polarizing filters to slow the shutter and create stunning dramatic images. By the end of class, you will have the skills to photograph moving water in any lighting situation.

We will spend the first part of class in the Forest of Nisene Marks. Please plan to arrive a little early to allow time for parking. We will leave the meeting place at 2:10 to begin our walk to the first location. After changing locations mid-afternoon, we will finish class just in time for sunset on the beach in Aptos.

View additional class information, including a list of required tools, equipment, and supplies.

Please wear water-friendly shoes and clothes, as you may get wet during the photography! Also bring snacks and a drink, or a picnic dinner you can eat on the go, as we will be shooting for 5 hours!
