In its simplest form, glass fusing is the art of cutting, shaping, arranging, layering, and decorating glass which is then fired (fused) in a kiln to create decorative and functional pieces. You will learn key techniques for working with art glass while making up to five fused glass gift projects. You may choose from a variety of projects including wine stoppers, key rings, bottle openers, letter openers, magnetic clips, nightlights, small jewelry, small dishes and more. Use decorative components such as glass frit, cabochons, stringer, dichroic glass, and cane to make your designs stand out. Have fun and check off those hard to buy for friends and family.

Materials fee includes all needed fusible art glass, hardware (e.g., key rings or wine stoppers), decorative components, use of hand and power glass cutting and shaping tools, use of safety equipment, consumables required for kiln firing, and up to 4 overnight kiln firings. Bring a pen and notebook to take notes. Everything else you need will be provided. Students will pick up finished pieces about a week after class to allow time for kiln-firing. Allow 15-20 minutes at pickup time to attach fired glass pieces to hardware.
