Savor the combined power of the visual and verbal as they meet and mix. Break out of your routine and give yourself the gift of creative space and time as you explore and grow in wildly different directions in this retreat-style workshop. In the highly immersive sessions, you’ll learn techniques to connect with your inner poetic voice, create a regular creative practice, and begin to combine poetry and photography to express your creative vision. Using your own photos as well as selected images, you’ll spend time writing poetry based on prompts that connect to the images, as well as learn to photograph based on the inspiration of your words. Exploring guided poetry-writing, journaling, and photography, you’ll leave the workshop with the beginnings of an inspired art journal that incorporates the power of your own words and images.
