Fused Glass Triangular Pattern Bars

ID : 11962
« back to classes page
ClassGraphic Pattern bars are pieces of glass stacked and fused into a block and then sliced across the grain. The resulting slices are arranged to build a unique geometric pattern in the final piece. Triangle slices naturally produce 4 and 8 fold mandala-like symmetries in their final arrangement. Color selection, stacking methodology and the arrangement of the slices in the final piece provide unlimited possibilities. Every stack, every pattern bar and every final piece is unique! Projects will be available for pick-up 7 to 10 days after class to allow for kiln firing time.

In this class each student will make and slice a triangular pattern bar and use the slices to build a platter, tray or platter.. This class does involve slicing the glass pattern bar on a diamond-blade table saw however this can be performed by the instructor at your request.

Your materials fee covers everything you will need including fusible art glass, use of hand and power tools, consumables, use of safety equipment and multiple overnight kiln firings. Bring a pen and notebook to take notes.

No experience required! You are required to wear closed-toe shoes, and avoid overly loose or flowing clothing and jewelry. Class size is limited to ensure personal attention. Classes fill quickly so register early!
