ClassGraphic Come play with fire and learn a new art form!
Spend the weekend learning how to create beautiful, realistic drawings on wood using a heated soldering iron (no actual fire involved). We will start by creating sketches on paper, then learn how to transfer our drawings and convert them into finished wood-burnings. Learn to enhance your work with color using oil stain, watercolor, and acrylic paint, then how to seal the wood so your finished pieces will last for years to come. You will start on 4 x 4 inch panels, to experiment with the tool and the techniques, and then work your way up to 8.5 x 11 inch panels for your finished pieces.
There will be time to create three finished wood-burnings in class. Go home with your finished pieces, your new pyrography skills, and information and resources about tools and equipment to continue creating more wood-burning art at home!

All materials and supplies are provided in class. Bring some sketches or ideas of what images you would like to use for your wood-burning.
