ClassGraphic Hypertufa - it's fun to say and even more fun to work with! Learn to mix and shape this lightweight, versatile cement-based faux stone, originally developed to replicate Victorian-era stone troughs. Create planters, statues, and other creative forms as you shape your hypertufa into lightweight "stone" vessels for your succulents, houseplants, patio plants, or create unique statuary. You will have time to create two or three lightweight hypertufa pieces, approximately the size of a one to two gallon bucket. Pebbles, shells, marbles, and other embellishments can be integrated into your pieces, as you explore the use of different materials, techniques, and molds while creating recipes for the mix. You are welcome to bring any mold forms and decorative additions you'd like to include in your pieces. Projects will go home with you at the end of class but will need a few days to cure once at home.

All tools, materials, and supplies will be provided in class. Please wear closed-toed shoes, clothes that can get dirty and wet, or bring a sturdy apron. You may also bring your own water-proof rubber gloves if you prefer, but disposable nitrile gloves will be supplied in class.
