Block Printing with Botanical Dyes

Learn the fundamentals of using botanical dyes for block printing.  Relying on the shapes and colors of the season, you will review different techniques for printing with contemporary examples on paper and fabric. Choosing from a selection of flowers and botanical elements provided in class you will design and carve your block. To create your prints, piece of wrapping paper you will use the block you create as well as the selection of pre-cut blocks and paper provided in class.  You will take home your hand carved printing block, a lino carving tool, your beautiful botanical prints, a handout about carving blocks and botanical dyes, and your journal for note-taking. 

This is an all-levels workshop and no prior experience is required.
