« back to classes page

Space is often called the “final frontier.” It captured the imaginations of storytellers, who drew pictures in the stars, and of scientists and engineers dreaming of exploring beyond our world. Now, it can be your turn! Whether you want to become an astronaut, study the stars, drive a rover on another planet, or are just curious about the night sky, this is the camp for you!

In this exploration of space and planetary science, you’ll measure the solar system, create your own star chart, make a mini rocket, design a mission to another planet, and much, much more, with activities developed by NASA and other planetary scientists. Each day, our interactive, hands-on activities will broaden your view of space, and your place in it.

Students will take home projects they create over the course of the week, to continue their astronomy adventures after camp has ended.

  • Need help finding your child’s classroom? Campus maps are available here.
      • Always send your child with a snack and a drink. Food = mood, and we want campers to be at their best! No food is available on campus.
      • Please be sure you have notified us of any behavioral or medical conditions we need to be aware of to help your child have a successful week at camp.
      • Campers need to be signed out every day by the individuals who have been approved by parent or legal guardian to pick them up, and are required to show a photo ID every day.
      • In order to protect the privacy and security of all minors on our campus, photographs by parents and family members in class are not permitted. Instructors and Extension staff often take photos and may share them with campers’ families via email once camp has concluded. Campers’ name tags will be removed for these photographs to respect and protect privacy.
