Dive deep into understanding how some chemicals in commonly sold commercial beauty products can be harmful to people and the planet, and how healthy versions can calm, soothe, and comfort bodies and minds. Let your mad scientist level-up your skills in this advanced camp. Learn how to make your fragrant, healing concoctions and wellness products from safe, natural ingredients, and learn about the chemistry behind the ingredients used for each product. In addition to topical applications, you will learn how herbs can calm the system, promoting healthy skin from the inside out. You focus on a different herb each day, and prepare and drink delicious herbal teas.
This camp gives you the opportunity to learn advanced skills and work with natural ingredients. You will learn the importance of adhering to safety guidelines as you work with ingredients that require careful handling. You will take home a different product (or two) each day, including a jar of lotion and sunscreen, a tin of salve, a jar of lip balm, a jar of exfoliating scrub, a jar of bath salts, a bar of soap, and a bag of herbal tea.
