ClassGraphic Purple pasta? Red bread? Yes! Spend a week in Cabrillo’s professional kitchen exploring the delicious and beautiful ways to naturally add color to food! Learn how to create natural dyes in a veritable rainbow of colors to add bright, vibrant hues to the everyday food you eat! You will learn to add color as you make delicious handmade pasta, fragrant, fluffy yeasted breads, and seasonal fresh fruit jam. You will create your rainbow of natural dyes using fresh, organic, locally sourced fruits, vegetables, spices, and even some surprising ingredients!

Each day includes demonstrations then you will work in teams to execute the skills and tasks learned that day. You will prepare each recipe while learning about teamwork, communication, organization, kitchen safety, food hygiene & science, and the importance of presentation, all while making and eating amazing colorful creations each day. You will take home samples of what you have made to share with your family, and take home a full recipe packet that includes pointers and tips about the skills and techniques learned in camp.
