Spend five delicious days at Cabrillo’s bakeshop making a dizzying array of cakes with a Master Baker! You will learn to make several flavors and styles of cakes, including layered cakes, cupcakes, and roll cakes. You will prepare ganache and buttercream icing, and learn how to fill cakes, pipe icing, and work with fresh fruit.
Each day includes demonstrations then students will work in teams to execute the skills and tasks they have learned that day. Students will prepare each recipe while learning about teamwork, communication, organization, kitchen safety, food hygiene, the science of baking, and the importance of presentation, all while making and eating amazing baking creations each day. Students will go home each day with samples of what they've made, and take home a full recipe packet that includes pointers and tips about the skills and techniques they have learned in camp.

Students are required to wear long pants, closed-toe shoes, an apron, and a hat, bandana, or hair net. Aprons and hair nets are provided in class, students may bring a hat if they prefer.
