« back to classes page

Disc golf is a wonderful outdoor activity that offers the freedom to explore at any level you choose. You can have a relaxing afternoon by yourself or with friends, join your local club and meet new people, or explore your competitive side and enter in a local tournament.  Join Patrick at the Cabrillo soccer field to learn the basics so you can explore this awesome sport! Learn techniques of throwing and putting, disc golf discs and associated mechanics, disc flight characteristics, arm speed control and angle of release. You will  learn about the rules and scoring of disc golf and we will have plenty of time to practice throwing the disc in an open field, and at a disc golf target, also referred to as "the basket". You will practice in pairs, and on your own. The day will end with an optional putting game for all class members who want to challenge their competitive spirit. You will walk away with a better understanding of how to play and enjoy the game of disc golf.
Your materials fee includes three premium disc golf discs, including a putter, midrange, and driver that you can use at your local open field or local disc golf course.

Please wear comfortable outdoor or athletic wear and athletic shoes, sunblock and or a hat is highly recommended. You will be outside for the entire class (although we will take a couple breaks) so bring snacks and plenty of hydration!
