Crochet for Beginners - Simple Stitches and Granny Squares

Join Suzanne for some crafting calm and unravel the benefits of crochet! This beginning crochet class for newcomers is a great opportunity for those who may also want a refresher class. You will learn the first, basic steps including the chain stitch, single and double crochet, and how to change colors. There will be plenty of practice in class with support while beginning work on your basic crochet square (aka granny square) that is the foundation of many types of crochet projects. There will be ample time to get help with your stitches, and to find the way that works best for you to hold the yarn and the hook.
Your materials fee covers a crochet hook and a skein of wool yarn (non-wool available on request). There will also be additional yarn available for purchase in class. You will also go home with resources to help you problem solve your crochet projects, a 10% discount card for a local yarn shop, and your newfound crochet powers!
This class is perfect for the complete beginner or anyone coming back to knitting after a long break. Students between the ages of 15 and 17 are welcome if they attend with an adult.
