Leave your control freak at home and come spend a weekend exploring form and texture in our textiles workshop full of cutting tables,
sewing machines and other sewing equipment.
You will be surprised and delighted at the whimsical small soft sculptures you can make by simply joining the contours of randomly cut pieces of fabric remnants. Use a sewing machine, hand stitch or glue your creations. Allow the process to inform the outcome without too much planning. Express your style through your combinations of colors and fabrics; from bright to moody, fuzzy
to silky. Working at a scale of roughly 5” to 10”,participants may finish 2–4 pieces during the workshop.
Students may bring fabric or clothing to reuse from their own stash, as well as notions, buttons, ribbons, or any other adornments they
wish to include in their sculptures. An assortment of fabric remnants, thread and stuffing will be provided. Participants are encouraged
to bring their own fabric scissors if they have them.
