Garden spheres add definition, like a punctuation mark in the garden. When they are covered in the colorful shapes and textures of succulents, they can steal the show! We begin the day at Cabrillo for a presentation and discussion about succulent selection, care and the many planting and design possibilities. Then students will have time to either grab lunch, or bring along the one they packed, take the short drive south to the beautiful three acres at Succulents Gardens Nursery in Castroville, where we’ll have a half hour to enjoy lunch on the grounds. There you’ll find 400 varieties of quality succulent plants, both popular and rare. We’’ spend the afternoon creating, planting and enjoying the hands on portion of making your succulent sphere.
Each student will leave class with a 6 to 8” succulent sphere, as well as a list of resources and the knowledge needed to make more! Please dress in clothes that you don't mind getting a little dirty and prepare to enjoy a day of education, and creativity!
