Join a passionate and creative group of wood workers for shop time in Cabrillo’s state-of-the art woodworking studio. This class affords students access to ne woodworking hand tools as well as stationary power tools. Students may work on designing and completing new projects, or finishing existing projects. Students will have the opportunity to develop or hone skills along the way with guidance and support from the instructor. Projects should be limited in size and scope in accordance with the size of the shop, number of shared tools, and time available during each class. All projects must be approved by instructor to assure that they are safe and appropriate for this class.
Due to limited storage all projects need to be taken home at the end of each class. There is no storage available for in-progress projects or materials. This class is designed for those working on specific building or art projects, and is not appropriate for mass production or milling materials. Tools and shop space are shared.
Prerequisite: students in this class must have taken the “Power Tool Primer” described above and demonstrate, through testing, competency in safe practice of tools in the shop, or have completed a Cabrillo Art Studio class in the wood shop.
Class size is limited so register early!
