California Dental Practice Act Course Review and Update
 

7:30 to 8:00am: Registration and continental breakfast with coffee and tea

8:00-11:00am: OSHA Training and Infection Control Update, Presented by Noel Kelsch

11:00-12:00: Catered Taco Bar Lunch (included in registration price)

12:00-2:00pm: CA Dental Practice Act, Presented by Noel Kelsch


Course Description:  Knowing the roles of all dental professionals is vital in keeping all dental professionals and patients safe. Staying up to date on the dental practice act and regulations, which govern the practice of dentistry, is a must!  This course will review the dental practice act and any recent changes.  Attendees will aid the clinician in being able to make correct legal and ethical decisions while practicing dentistry. 
 
Course Goals: After taking the course the attendee:
  • Delineate the regulatory agencies that oversee the practice of dentistry the licensure requirements for Dentists, Hygienists and Axillaries.
  • Utilize the Department of Consumer Affairs resources for understanding scope of practice, duties, levels of supervision and reporting violations. 
  • Implement and evaluate workplace application of infection control in the dental setting.
  • Identify the new laws and regulations that apply to Dentistry. 

Course Description: INFECTION CONTROL WITH A TWIST: Ever sit through an infection control class and wish you could nod off?  Noel Kelsch RDH, MS decided to change that using humor and cutting edge information. This course will give you up to date and practical information designed to keep both the clinician and the client safe. Stressing the essential value of breaking the chain of infection at every level, attendees will return to their offices equipped with practical, clearly defined steps to ensure adequate infection control in the dental setting.   This action packed course was developed to meet the regulatory requirements and includes hands on training, lecture,?discussion, power-point presentation and? handouts for future use in the dental setting.

Course Goals: After taking the course the attendee:

 
  • Delineate the regulatory requirements for minimum standards in Infection Control 
  • Utilize the processes and procedures necessary to comply with the regulations 
  • Implement and evaluate workplace application of infection control in the dental setting

Open to individuals or the entire dental team.

This course will be offered annually on the first Saturday of October.
